Professor Zhang pointed out that General Secretary Xi’s concept of “maritime community with a shared future” has greatly expanded the dimension of maritime political research and pushed it to a new stage. The concept of “maritime community with a shared future” expands the research subject of maritime political research, thus expanding the research dimension while revealing the blind spot in traditional maritime political studies. Xi’s concept will provide a broader space for the theoretical and practical development of ocean politics. Guangming Daily published a briefing of Professor Zhang’s speech.
This seminar has effectively enhanced the theoretical self-confidence and self-consciousness of pursuing diplomacy with our own characteristics as a major country in the new era, and pushed Xi Jinping’s diplomatic thoughts to go deeper, go to the people’s heart, and go to reality. Professor Zhang’s participation in the seminar also fully demonstrated the influence of School of Northeast Asia Studies and the Institute of International Studies at Shandong University in the field of international studies. At the same time, this occasion helped enhance exchanges and cooperation with scholars from other universities.
