Nanfengchuang Published an Exclusive Interview with Professor Qi Kai Titled Self-improvement and Openness: The Two Wings of China's Scientific and Technological Development

Recently, Prof. Qi Kai from the School of Northeast Asia Studies was interviewed by the famous Chinese magazine Nanfengchuang to discuss the current situation and future direction of China's scientific and technological development, and analyze the situation of technological competition in the current international circumstances. The 26th issue of Nanfengchuang in 2024 published an exclusive interview article titled Self-improvement and Openness: The Two Wings of China's Scientific and Technological Development.

In the interview, Prof. Qi shares his insights on China's scientific and technological development. He believes that with the intelligence and wisdom of the Chinese people, as well as the spirit of hard-working, coupled with the accumulated experience of technological development, the future is bound to be worth looking forward to.

Prof. Qi points out that the current global competition in science and technology is becoming increasingly fierce, and the fields of artificial intelligence, quantum computing and biotechnology have become the focus of international strategic game. Facing the challenge, China needs to further promote open cooperation while adhering to self-reliance and self-improvement, to ensure breakthroughs in key technological fields and enhance its international discourse power.

Prof. Qi emphasizes that the concept of new quality productivity proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping is based on the background of the accelerated development of global digitalization, guiding China towards a development model with innovation as the core. He believes that China's achievements in the areas of high-speed rail, electric vehicles, and aerospace demonstrate the great potential of technological self-improvement, and the key behind these achievements lies in the synergy between government and market forces.
