On December 26th,2024，the launching ceremony of the"Chinese Borderland Intelligence Nexus(CBIN)"was held at Weihai Campus. Cao Xianqiang, Vice President of Shandong University, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Qiu Daobin, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Weihai Campus, Yin Ziqiang, Executive President and Chief Product Officer of Heywhale Technology, and Qiu Yu, Chief Technology Officer of the Generative Artificial Intelligence Division of Zhipu AI attended the ceremony. Zheng Jingbin, dean of the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Institute of Shandong University, presided over the ceremony.

Cao Xianqiang pointed out in his speech that the "Chinese Borderland Intelligence Nexus(CBIN)" is an important achievement of the university in the field of borderland academic research in responding to the needs of the times. It aims to build an open, shared and innovative academic platform, gather talents from all aspects, and promote the in-depth development of borderland research.

At the ceremony, representatives from both the university and the enterprise light up the energy column, announcing the official launch of the "Chinese Borderland Intelligence Nexus(CBIN)", marking the successful digital transformation of borderland research. Then, the R&D team introduced and demonstrated the working principle and basic functions of CBIN. The participating experts and scholars fully affirmed the advantages of CBIN in multimodal mining of images and texts, processing of ancient books, and its potential in academic research, teaching, and popular science.

After the ceremony, scholars and enterprise representatives engaged in a roundtable discussion centered on the theme of“Building a Digital and Intelligent Borderland, and Practicing Academic Border Defense”.
