On October 21, Professor Choi Pilsoo from the Faculty of International Studies, Sejong University of the Republic of Korea, paid a visit to the School of Northeast Asia Studies, Shandong University, for themed exchanges on China-Japan-ROK studies. Liu Changming, Dean of the School of Northeast Asia studies, attended the meeting, and the meeting was presided over by Li Dongxin, director of the Department of International Politics and Economics.
During the discussion, Liu Changming elaborated on the school's development history and its distinctive strengths from three perspectives: disciplinary research, talent cultivation and international cooperation. He expressed the hope to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism with Sejong University in joint research and student exchange programs. Professor Choi Pilsoo mainly introduced the disciplinary development and research focuses of the Faculty of International Studies, as well as its master and doctoral programs for international students. He noted that the potential for China-ROK cooperation keeps growing, and looked forward to further deepening academic ties and exploring new paths for coordinated development based on this visit.
In the interactive session, participants conducted in-depth discussions on cutting-edge issues concerning China-ROK economic cooperation. The two sides agreed to formulate detailed rules for joint research and student exchanges at an early date to deliver tangible cooperation outcomes.
Department directors of the School of Northeast Asia studies, director of the Asia Center under the Institute of International Studies, and faculty representatives also attended the meeting.
