School of Northeast Asia Studies:
School of Northeast Asia Studies is a key school of Shandong University. Since 2017, Northeast Asian Studies has been elected as Shandong University’s “Peak Discipline Plan” and has been known for its interdisciplinary approach. The School has three departments: the Department of International Politics and Economics, the Department of Korean Studies, and the Department of Japanese Studies. It has founded a Northeast Asian Research Center (registered at the Ministry of Education), a Korean Peninsula Research Center (registered at the Ministry of Education), and a History and Documentation Research Center , a China-Japan -ROK Think Tank Research Base (member of Think Tank Alliance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Northeast Asian Research Certer for Chinese Association of Asia-Pacific Studies and other academic platforms.
The School is in need of 2 new faculty members for teaching and researching.
1. Job requirements
a. International Politics Major
Able to teach international political theory and related courses, actively carry out research on Northeast Asian international relations, especially on the Korean Peninsula issue. Have a strong sense of teamwork, and can undertake key research projects.
Basic Requirements
Qualifications: fresh graduates or personnel with rich teaching and research experience
Major: International Politics or International Relations
Degree: PhD
Fields: Korean Peninsula Studies, Northeast Asian Security Studies
Age: PhD graduates under 32 years old, Associate Professors under 40 years old, and Professors under 45 years old.
Nationality: Chinese
Language: Proficient in Korean and have good English skills
b. Korean Language Major
Able to teach professional courses related to Korean linguistics and Korean interpretation, actively carry out research on Korean linguistics and Chinese-Korean translation, have a strong sense of teamwork, and can undertake key research projects.
Basic Requirements
Qualifications: Rich research results, more than 3 CSSCI papers published in the past three years.
Major: Korean Linguistics and Translation
Degree: PhD
Fields: Korean linguistics and translation studies, meets the requirement of Shandong University.
Nationality: Chinese
Language: proficient in Korean, and capable of simultaneous interpretation between Chinese and Korean
2. Wages and Benefits:

a. Institute of International Studies
The Institute of International Studies is affiliated to School of Northeast Asia Studies. It is a key Institute of Shandong University and a high-end think tank for international studies. Currently, it has established three key centers: marine studies, international economic studies, and area studies. 3 new researchers are needed: 1 in area studies, 1 in International Economics, and 1 in marine studies (must meet the requirements for the introduction of special talents at Shandong University).
1. Job Requirements
Responsibility: Mainly engaged in think tank and theoretical research, and undertake a certain amount of teaching.
Ability: have strong independent research capabilities, outstanding achievements in related fields, and undertake national, provincial and ministerial key research projects.
Basic requirements:
Qualifications: PhD in economics or political science, senior professional title, those who meet the requirements of Shandong University for talent introduction are preferred.
Age: Associate Professor under 40 years old, Professor under 45 years old. (The age of special-appointed professors can be extended to 50 years old).
Nationality: Chinese
Language: Proficient in English
