Professor Xu Jian received a doctorate degree in philosophy from Bristol University in the United Kingdom and has served as the President of China Foreign Affairs University, the vice president of the China Institute of International Studies, the minister and counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation, the counselor of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations, etc.
Professor Xu Jian is a well-known expert on international issues and enjoys special government allowance from the State Council. He is currently serving as the Executive Vice President of the China Association for International Relations, the Deputy Chairman of the National Expert Committee on Biosecurity, a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Office of the Central Leading Group for Cyberspace Affairs, the Deputy Director of the Professional Committee for International Cooperation in Cyberspace, and the Director of the Editorial Board of the Renmin University Publishing House's "International Politics".
Professor Xu Jian has long been engaged in pioneering research in the fields of international politics, relations between major powers, Asian regional cooperation, and China's diplomacy, and has accumulated rich diplomatic practical experience. He has written more than 200 internal research papers, published more than 100 articles of various types, and written many books. Over the years, he has done a lot of effective work to promote the construction of the discipline system, academic system and discourse system of international issues.
